Customer Services

As a member of staff in customer service you are usually the first point of contact with patients, staff, our partners, external services and anyone who contacts an organisation. You may also provide face-to-face communications, via the telephone correspondence and emails.  

 

Roles in customer services could include telephonist / switchboard operator and receptionist. The type of person that would be suited to these role is someone who is:  

  • Friendly and welcoming  
  • Patient and understanding 
  • Listens well 
  • Able to follow instructions and procedures  
  • Work in a team as well as using their own initiative  
  • Use IT and communication equipment  
  • Deal with people who may be angry and upset
