Health and Care Work Sector Academy

About us

The Health and Care Sector Work Academy is a Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority project supporting people to gain a career in health and care or for those already employed in the sector, to develop skills to progress to the next level.

It is an opportunity to gain a recognised City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care and the basic knowledge of the Care Certificate Standards. The HCSWA also provides mentorship support.

This is a free course for those who meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

If you are from Cambridgeshire or Peterborough and are receiving a benefit even if you are already in work including:

  • Universal Credit,
  • JSA,
  • Working Tax Credit,
  • ESA,
  • Child Tax Credit
  • or Carers Allowance

** You can still claim your benefits whilst on the course as Health and Care Work Academy work with the local Job Centres.**
