Welcome

Welcome to the Senior Academy!

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Health and Care Academy has been created with input from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System partners, Health Education England, schools, colleges and universities in the local area.

Here you have the opportunity to learn about the wide range of roles within the NHS (Health) and Care. Throughout the pre-recorded sessions, you will have the chance to meet Health and Care Professionals throughout Cambridgeshire and Peterborough; both clinical and non-clinical. The Senior Academy will guide you through the first steps into the world of Health and Care Careers.

Working through the modules

To start completing the modules, you will need to begin by watching the recordings. You can view these by scrolling through via the arrows on either side of the video. Remember to make notes throughout as they will help you complete your portfolio and quick quizzes. Once you have watched all the videos, you can mark the section as complete and move onto the next section (explore more or quiz).

If you do not have a Portfolio, please contact us via email or speak to your teacher and we can provide you with a copy.

Getting the best from the modules

In order to benefit from the Senior Academy, we suggest that you explore all the information available. Take time at the beginning of each session to write down a few questions or pointers that you may wish to learn more about and reflect upon. These could be:

  • What do I need to find out about this role?
  • Do I understand the requirements of the job?
  • Do I need to do some additional research?

After looking at the schedule if you have any questions you would like to directly ask one of the speakers or department, please email us.

Our Advice

We advise that you spend either:

  • A minimum of three months completing the modules, this would equate to one module per week or
  • A maximum of six months, equate two modules per month.

Although this cohort is not comprised of live sessions, you still have the opportunity to submit questions directly to us (via email) to ask our guest speakers throughout your journey.

Top tip

In every week you will find additional materials (PowerPoints, pdf’s, etc.) in the Resources Centre and in some modules you will also have an explore more section.
